Pigeon Control

The problem of pigeons is considered pandemic and a real global problem. Many countries around the world have invested numerous resources in search for a solution to this problem.

Solutions such as placing dummies in occupied areas, applying different chemicals and prohibiting the feeding of pigeons have all failed, time and time again.

Pigeons have an extraordinary ability to learn and the power to overcome many obstacles while trying to nest in their priority places. Currently there is no solution to this problem.

Pigeons have become a nuisance in private homes, apartment buildings, warehouses, towers, etc., as they prefer to nest in internal parts of buildings and thus pollute them. In many places the pigeons huddle together in large groups and create a devastating amount of noise, dirt and unpleasant odors that are produced by their droppings. Pigeons are a convenient platform for infections and for parasites that cause various diseases including viral brain infection, salmonella and many more.

Pigeon droppings are not the only risk factor because pigeon feathers also bring a multitude of insects such as lice, flies and mites which can cause severe allergic reactions.

Damage effects caused from the high PH level in the droppings cause corrosion to develop in the metals and bricks that come into contact with it. In addition, the high proportion of piles that accumulate over time can lead to the collapse of the roofs of old or temporary buildings.

Effective solutions performed by P.Y PEST CONTROL are working on two levels that complement each other.

Integration methods are the only comprehensive solution to the pigeon’s problem.

Firstly, it is important to neutralize the favorite nesting places for pigeons and make them incompatible by using spikes, spring and / or creating a straight surface with a gradient of 60 degrees. These actions prevent the pigeons from starting to build a nest until a more suitable place can be found.

Secondly, blocking access to nesting sites through a network stretching throughout the area is a key factor to getting rid of the pigeons. This solution is utilized when the number of potential nesting places becomes too vast in an area or when there is difficulty in neutralizing the nesting places individually.

Pigeon removal includes cleaning away the droppings (assuming that this is feasible) and spraying pesticides to prevent the development of lice and other pests.
